چکیده

We extend our modeling of smart structures to second order piezoelectricity. We show that three different models have to be taken into account, which broadens the scope of the sensors and actuators field. Second order piezoelectricity being compatible with isotropy, we also propose a systematic study of the impact of crystalline symmetries on our models. To cite this article: T. Weller, C. Licht, C. Analytical Solution for Sound Radiation of Vibrating Circular Plates coupled with Piezo-electric Layers

In the present study, the classical plate theory (CPT) was used to study sound radiation of forced vibrating thin circular plates coupled with piezoelectric layers using simply supported and clamped boundary conditions. The novelty of the study consists of an exact closed-form solution that was developed without any use of approximation. Piezoelectric, electrical potential loaded in the transve...

Mathematical Modeling of Thin Piezoelectric Plates with Electric Field Gradient

Piezoelectric materials are widely used in the design of smart structures. It is thus of major technological interest to provide efficient modelings of such structures. In the case of thin piezoelectric plates, classical studies generally lead to two different models. These two models can be linked to the distinction between sensors and actuators. Here, we extend these results to the second ord...

Semi-Analytical Solution for Vibration of Nonlocal Piezoelectric Kirchhoff Plates Resting on Viscoelastic Foundation

Semi-analytical solutions for vibration analysis of nonlocal piezoelectric Kirchhoff plates resting on viscoelastic foundation with arbitrary boundary conditions are derived by developing Galerkin strip distributed transfer function method. Based on the nonlocal elasticity theory for piezoelectric materials and Hamilton's principle, the governing equations of motion and boundary conditions are ...

Pull-In Instability of MSGT Piezoelectric Polymeric FG-SWCNTs Reinforced Nanocomposite Considering Surface Stress Effect

In this paper, the pull-in instability of piezoelectric polymeric nanocomposite plates reinforced by functionally graded single-walled carbon nanotubes (FG-SWCNTs) based on modified strain gradient theory (MSGT) is investigated. Various types of SWCNTs are distributed in piezoelectric polymeric plate and also surface stress effect is considered in this research. The piezoelectric polymeric nano...

Exact Solution for Electrothermoelastic Behaviors of a Radially Polarized FGPM Rotating Disk

This article presents an exact solution for an axisymmetric functionally graded piezoelectric (FGP) rotating disk with constant thickness subjected to an electric field and thermal gradient. All mechanical, thermal and piezoelectric properties except for Poisson’s ratio are taken in the form of power functions in radial direction. After solving the heat transfer equation, first a symmetric dist...
